Painful? Yes. Necessary? Yes

One may not have control over the heart, but one does have control over the relationship. Or at least that's what I think, hope. Whatever.

Most of your lines hit too close to the heart. Responding to them seems to be an exercise in tautology. What else is there to add?

You part with your guroor only when you love the person so much that you are ready to share your vulnerabilities, when you are ready to allow the other person to hurt you. You take that chance, hoping you will never be hurt, hoping that you will never repent getting naked, hoping your guroor and love will be valued more than anything else.

K - Sorry to be so clinical but this is what I think - normally one would use one's own emotion (to use your phrase "when you love the person so much...") as a barometer and follow it up with the complete submission and surrender of self (in turn leading to the merging of two souls) that symbolises the highest plane of love. However, to me this line is more cautionary. It places the decision making factor on the other person instead. It advises you that once you have given your heart, pause a while and go ahead to complete surrender only when you believe the other person feels the depth of emotion that is required to keep your soul in safe custody (else you are in trouble!). That's the reason I like this line. It expresses love at various levels and not just at the pure "romantic".

Aish - I agree with you. I feel so helpless in front of such lines that can be felt in such totality that all one can indulge in are academic analysis.
